Ruling the Scottish Isles, perfect locations for wild camping trips, out for three reasons: fuel expense, journey times and, more importantly, the on-going ferry problems.

To compensate, Petrina, who, sadly, is unable to organise/ join in, has suggested a return to this beautiful, quieter part of Wales [the wild camping trip she organised in 2012 was brilliant].

The plan is to meet at Barmouth Slabs for a spot of early morning climbing then, after dumping climbing gear, catch the train to Talybont, have a pub dinner, then start the route aiming to find a likely spot to camp.

On Sunday, continue south in a leisurely fashion, taking in the scenery, wildlife and archaeological interest, we will head for Barmouth to take in the delights of this metropolis.
